Submitting the final copy of your thesis or dissertation
1. It is not required but is strongly recommended that you submit a copy of your
thesis/dissertation to the Assistant Dean before
you print it on the paper listed in #6a below.
Please do no email the copy. You may either
drop off a copy to the Office in the Library
5 AAC, or mail it to Chris Frank, Library of
Rush University, 600 South Paulina, Chicago
60612, IL. Be sure to include your email address
so you can get her comments about the format.
2. Obtain the degree-approval form for the appropriate college from http://www.rushu.rush.edu/registrar/index.html
3. Make an appointment with Christine Frank,
Director of the Library of Rush University
at (312) 942-8735 or email Christine_Frank@rush.edu.
4. You will need to obtain the ProQuest brochure titled, "Publishing your Master's Thesis (or Doctoral Dissertation)" from her also.
5. Obtain a letter with the University seal imprinted on it from the Registrar certifying the degree received and the date on which it was awarded. (Note: The Registrar will tell you what has to be done before he releases the letter). For you to get the letter usually takes two business days.
6. For your appointment with Ms. Frank,
please bring the following:
a. the original copy of the approved thesis
or dissertation printed on at least 25% rag
bond paper, recommended 20 pound weight
b. an extra title page and abstract (any kind
of paper)
c. the filled out Thesis/Dissertation Agreement
in the ProQuest brochure
d. the Letter from the Registrar
e. the degree approval form
f. a money order made out to ProQuest Information
and Learning Company (the amount varies, check
with the Director) for microfilming
and copyright fees
g. $5.00 via cash or personal check made out
to the Library of Rush University for mailing
fee
7. The Library will send your thesis/dissertation to ProQuest.
8. After ProQuest microfilms it, it will be returned to the Library. The Library will have it bound, cataloged and put into the Library's collection. The Library may lend it to authorized users.
9. If you wish the Library can have copies bound for your use at the current binding rate (about $7.00) You must supply the copies. Payment is to be made when the bound copies are received.
