Alumni Privileges

Welcome to the Library of Rush University Medical Center! All graduates of Rush University are invited to establish a "Patron" record and receive a borrower's card at the Library for a fee of $50.00 payable on July 1 each year. This entitles you to:

• Borrow materials for the customary loan periods
• Register to use most library electronic databases via a library proxy server password (NOTE: UpToDate is not available through the proxy server).
• Request interlibrary loan/document delivery of selected articles
• Request Librarian assisted searches on specific topics
• Take classes offered through the Library
• Borrow audiovisuals through the McCormick Educational Technology Center

1. Your borrower's card and ID and password are for your use only. They may not be given to anyone else to either gain access to the library electronic databases or journals, or to use other library services. Your doing so would be in violation of our agreements and contracts with vendors and with other libraries.
2. If you borrow any materials from the Library you are subject to the same due dates and payment of the same late fees as other library patrons.
3. If you lose or fail to return any materials (books, journals, or audiovisuals) you are liable for the replacement cost of the item plus a replacement charge (currently $20).
4. If you use any use any fee-for-services you are subject to the same charges as other library patrons.
