|
What is Combivir ?
Combivir is a combination of two HIV medications in one tablet (Retrovir + Epivir). This was done to decrease the number of pills that a person has to take to treat HIV infection. Combivir, like all HIV medications, should be taken in combination with other HIV medications as prescribed.
How does Combivir work ?
See section describing Retrovir or Epivir.
How should Combivir be taken ?
Combivir ca be taken with or without food. Combivir should be taken twice a day (one tablet in the morning and one tablet in the evening).
It is very important to try not to miss or skip any doses. The fewer doses a person skips the fewer opportunities the virus has to develop resistance to HIV medication.
What does Combivir look like ?
Combivir is a white oval shaped tablet that has GX FC3 printed on one side.
What are the potential side effects of Combivir ?
The side effects of Combivir are the same as Retrovir and Epivir.
